Whaddaya buyin’? #20 – This Week’s Releases

Welcome to a new weekly feature, aptly titled ‘Whaddaya buyin’?’ – our weekly gaming release table for those looking to get a quick look into the upcoming week of gaming titles. As known, our podcast Operation PlayStation has ‘The Drop’, named after the PlayStation Blog’s notorious release post that has been retired for quite sometime, however we’re looking to cover weekly releases across the board from all major publications, on all major platforms. We’ll also include our recommendations for those that aren’t too keen on what may be fresh on ballot, and update our picks as we go.

This Week: September 25 - October 1

Now Available:

  • Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores DLC (PS5)
  • Dead Space (PC, PS5, XSX)
  • The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Switch)
  • Metroid Prime Remastered (Switch)
  • Octopath Traveller II (PC, PS5, Switch)
  • Resident Evil 4 Remake (PC, PS5, XSX)
  • WWE 2K23 (PC, PS5, XSX)
  • STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor (PC, PS5, XSX)
  • Diablo IV (PC, PS4, PS5, XB1, XSX)
  • Street Fighter 6 (PC, PS4, PS5, XB1, XSX)

Late addition to the backlog, but STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor is unequivocally a smash hit, that’s no doubt in the run for Game of the Year. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is unmissable, and a welcome addition to the backlog this week. I highly recommend anyone that has yet to finish their adventure through Hyrule in Breath of the Wild to do so, then jump into this magical follow-up. Also, I would not pass-up Resident Evil 4, especially those that love their survival-horror’s. The title will make everyone’s Game of the Year list, without question.
