DASH Gamer Playlist #10 – Korn, System of a Down, Killswitch Engage, The Used & MORE

The DASHGAMER.com playlist. Music that we jam to, while being productive with our daily tasks. This week Simon from Take My Tone, now found on DASHGAMER.com, take’s his tone right to your eardrums this week. Will you take his tone?

I’ve titled this playlist ‘Connection / Loss’. These songs are written through personal experiences of losing connection with yourself and others.

We open with a brand new Korn banger where a darkness smothers Jon Davis since the death of his wife in 2018. An ambiguous yet jangly The Used number echoes Bert McCracken’s nostalgia of a childhood best friend.

Take a turn inwards with A Perfect Circle’s haunting ‘Weak and Powerless’, which is then followed by the mental health struggles of ‘Cut Me Loose’ by Killswitch Engage.

A poetic System Of A Down masterpiece questions our connection with life and afterlife. This falls away into the ethereal yet calming ‘Terminal’ written while Devin Townsend faced a life-changing cancer scare.

Stone Sour bring a chest-beating anthem knowing your own vitality, then crossing to the harsh upbringing of Marcus Bridge of Northlane.

1988 anime ‘Grave Of The Fireflies’ directly influenced a sad yet powerful Arch Enemy cry. Closing the playlist, Chevelle aim to bring the balance of understanding where one can fit within society vs expectations.
